Fidencio Spirits

Arik started his career in the restaurant business over 20 years ago, and has risen as beverage director and sommelier of note in the competitive New York City market. In 1998, a mutual friend introduced Arik to Jimmy Bradley and Danny Abrams of The Red Cat fame, for which he subsequently created signature cocktails and an extensive drink menu as bartender. Arik is credited with having had a hand in evolving The Red Cat into the trendy cocktail & dining destination it is today.

In 2003, Arik opened The Mermaid Inn as the GM and Beverage Director, where the casual, inviting atmosphere makes it easy for Arik to do what he does best – ensure a memorable, top-quality dining experience. As GM he oversaw all aspects of the restaurant’s operations. One of the unique challenges was to maximize the profitability of their consumer friendly wine program. The restaurant was a smash hit. 

From there, Arik was at Sushi Samba, where he has brought his passion and knowledge to this creative and innovative beverage program.  At this post, Arik cultivated relationships in all aspects of the Food & Beverage industry.  

In 2009 Arik launched Fidencio Mezcal.  His passion for educating and telling stories were the perfect compliment to present Fidencio and grow the category of Mezcal.  Within the past 5 years artisan mezcal has seen major growth and Fidencio Mezcal has been a driving force within the category.  Fidencio is one of the largest artisanal mezcal brands in the United States and has a growing presence around the world.

In 2014 Arik has launched Fidencio Spirits to import other brands.  Fidencio Mezcal sparked a desire to explore more flavors, learn more stories and share them with the market.  The first project is La Venenosa Ra­­­­icilla.  Until now, these remarkable spirits were hidden to the outside world.  With the launch of the brand La Venenosa he also launched the category of Raicilla to the United States.  For 2015 there are plans to launch 3 new and exciting brands
