Bazil Zerinsky

New Orleans, LA
Born in New York and raised in New Mexico and India, Bazil Zerinsky’s life started with an interesting foundation of foods and flavors. She began her bartending career in nightclubs in San Francisco, and quickly developed a love for spirits and a fascination with combining new flavors. Since the San Francisco craft cocktail scene was still in infancy at the time, she took to books and home experimentation to expand her knowledge. She continued teaching herself while tending bar in New Mexico at some local neighborhood joints before moving to New Orleans where she was welcomed by a wonderful and nurturing craft bartending community. After spending some time at the Sazerac Bar and then working beside and learning from Paul Gustings at Serendipity, she went on to be head bartender at Bar Tonique for over 3 years mastering the classics and creating some new concoctions of her own. In 2015 she helped open El Libre, a cuban inspired bar in the French Quarter.
She is currently working at the Catahoula Hotel, where the cocktail program focuses on Peruvia Pisco, experimental cocktails and whimsical presentations, she is also bartending and helping organize pop-ups at the quirky new sandwich shop Turkey and the Wolf.
She spends her spare time working on art projects at home or traveling the world finding fun and inspiration.
